Minar

Looking out my window across the bay at Tangier, I could see a smallish town on a hill at the end of the bay. Needing something to do I found that the number 16 bus went there, but was unable to ind out where it stopped so I could board it. There are taxis which have several seats and one was going by the town. It cost me 20 Dirham, but the real price was 5 Dirham (I found out later) and me being a Westerner got ripped off yet again in Tangier.

Walking up from the main road into the town I noticed how deep the curbs were, it was pleasant and a lot warmer than Tangier. The first thing I ran into was a local vegetabe market. Chances are most of them were grown in the mountains and because of the rich soil tasted better.

No one spoke English and several didn't even speak French, which I found interesting because Morocco is a French colony. Looking around a bit, some spots were found to take a few photographs. At one point I was able to grab a shot of Tangier in the distance,

A town beyond the port on the other side of the Straits. I think it is Tarifa.

On th way back a bus arrived and it cost 4 Dirham. I got off the bus a bit too early, but this blind man needed help getting a taxi from near the beach. I walked him to a good location and got him into a taxi, bit like it was meant to happen.
