Making it all fit

Following my time in Morocco, I spent a short while in London. Some official things needed doing and I wanted to get some smaller items to have with me when on the road. That meant signing up on Amazon again, not all that great for getting decent stuff through, but occasionally you can buy an item that is actually okay. The purpose was to assess some stuff and consolidate what I have.

The updating of security measures in airports with new scanners is okay but not all airports do that, so everything in your backpack has to come out and be checked. To that end I bought a transparent bag which is fine and have added another that I put my basic clothing and a few other items in.

Victorinox Altmont Professional 602154.

My Lenovo Thinkpad is fine, nice and light as well as tough, but Windows 11 is terrible and slows me down no end. Some little connectors were bought to handle USB C, which helps. Everything will go into my new Victorinox backpack.

The 35 L Mountain Warehouse (MW) backpack I've used for several years serves me well and since I try to take care of stuff, looks almost new. However, it tends to fall over a lot rather than stand on it's base. I went to the Victorinox store in London and dished out 140 UKP on this. Victorinox give a 10 year guarantee and the person in the store was very helpful.

Photographing the inside of any backpack is a serious pain, but one item is removable. I can put small items in it, roll the thing up, snap it shut then simply stick it inside the pack.

Fits under seat.

For several years I have also carried a second bag. It's grey, slips over my shoulder and inside are items needed such as a water bottle, reading glasses etc. For short trips I had a very light pack by Gonex, but it was not waterproof so it went and has been replaced by a new one. Granger Repel spray used to keep it drier and inside are the things I used have in the old grey bag, plus it can be used for short trips so it's dual purpose.

I got two so they match sizewise abd dumped the original one.

Some of the little bits needed. The USB-USBC connector, a folding spork and Victorinox potato peeler.

The backpack has a lot of pockets which come in handy, but it also has zips and I am not very fond of them so have some small clips that look like locks to hold the zipper slides together. Full, it weighs about 2 pounds more than my MW one and does not fall over plus I have room for extra stuff.

Works for me.
