I have to carry less
From the 16th of July to the 5th of August was a somewhat miserable time. I needed a place to stay and actually had one in Valladolid run by a guy who teaches English there. I was told he would arrive on the 18th of July and looked all over the city for a place to stay the night of the 17th. I walked miles, my backpack weighed about 14-15 pounds (more than I am supposed to carry) and the streets were not all that easy to walk on. Finally gave up and found a 4 star hotel open, at 4am, I was exhausted.
The next day I went to where he lived and he was not there. I phoned him, no answer. That did it for me, so decided to grab the next train to Madrid and head for Morocco. I found a nice little hostal, but my room was in a blind spot for Wifi. Almost next to it was the Cervelo Hostal, which is great and I tried to book a flight. It was a no go, I could not buy anything or access my bank online. I returned to London where I have sorted out my bank, hopefully, and am now writing this.
It is the 9th of August now and all I have done is to try and recover. The one thing I really need is a lighter backpack. Walking about 7 kilometers with a too heavy a pack is not good for my damaged spine. I have one I used when going on some bus runs while in England, so wondered what I could do with it.

This backpack only weighs 1 pound instead of 2 1/2, is smaller, so I set out to see what I really required, not what I thought I would need. The whole thing including my water bottle with some water in, weighs just under 9 lbs.
To crown it off....

The pack is actually black, I lightened it here so that you can see the details.

From Royal Observatory Greenwich.
It is the 12th of August and partial solar eclipse is taking place in the UK. Interesting enough, it's a total eclipse in Pamplona.
