A truly amazing window in the sky

A trip north of London one day was good. After returning home I was on my balcony, looked at the sky and saw this incredible thing and went inside to get my camera. English skies have strange clouds but this one was amazing.

I stood for some time after photographing this and decided to include it at the end of the blog post. The air currents soon dissolved the thing, so was glad I took the foto quickly. Later on the idea occured to mess around with it for fun and see what could be done.
