Dead rat
For some odd reason, it doesn't matter where I am, rats seem to be the only creatures I run across. In Tangier, like the Middle East, there are stray cats and dogs all over the place, but I would not count them as wild. Rats, however, are a different matter and I did not see any until one morning.

It was about 0930 and my usual morning walk was in process. I had gone down to the beach in Tangier and the tide was still going out. Waves were high, maybe two feet or so in the Straits of Gibraltar and hardly anyone was there. On some high tides, the water almost reaches the walls next to the beach which have steps you can use to get onto the sand. While heading back to the set of steps which would take me to the main road crossing, so I could go back to my room, I saw a dead rat laying there. It must have been foraging for food at high tide, they're not very bright, and got itself swept out to sea where at some point, after drowning, the water put it in a place that the body was not taken further out into the Straits.

Try wilddead instead of wildlife
