Cold walk

Once I had settled back into home a few days, a walk was taken. The morning was cold, only a couple degrees above freezing with a lazy wind, the kind that goes through you instead of around. Three stops on the rails from where I live is a large country park of about 125 acres. In summer you can hardly hear a thing, winter is another story. Normally this time of year it's a sea of water and mud but was quite dry, which was nice.

Very bare now.

One of the main trails.

A few people were out walking their dogs as I strolled down a main trail. Being so cold I decided not spend long there and headed toward a train station on the other side. Some trees have been cut down and two of the viewing platforms on the lake are in bad condition, don't know when they will be repaired.

In Spring a lot of birds have their nests on the island.

The lake is good sized and in spring/summer can have a lot of water fowl, but some years the feathered lot are minimal. The area is mainly flat with a couple of rises which don't really qualify as hills. There are quite a few trails where I can stride out on.

Next week the temperatures are forcast to go up into the two number factor with no freezing nights. Let's hope they stay that way, I'm tired of the cold.

Warmth on the way.
